Monkey Head and Jellyfish Nebulae widefield

Monkey Head (NGC 2174) is an emission nebula strong in Hydrogen alpha about 6,400 light years away in the constellation of Orion. In the same field of view is the Jellyfish nebula (IC443 or SH2-248), a supernova remnant, about 5,000 light years away just over the border in the constellation of Gemini.

Imaged on 10 Dec 2021 from my Bortle 5 back garden:

- 45% Moon

- Redcat 51 mounted on iOptron Skyguider Pro, no guiding

- ASI 1600MM camera, gain 200 and -15degC

- 35 x 120s Ha, 17 x 120s OIII, 28 x 120s SII (cloud limited, more to be added)

Processed in APP, Startools and Gimp in HSO.
