  1. Here's a splendid website to visit for some excellent images taken by an amateur astrophotographer from Finland of the Milky Way using mostly an old LX200 12-inch Meade scope....> https://astroanarchy.zenfolio.com/ https://astroanarchy.blogspot.com/2021/03/gigapixel-mosaic-of-milky-way-1250.html Keep Looking Up! 4. Hello Peter.... A pic of the low profile focuser mounted on your telescope tube that shows the large gap would probably generate some excellent suggestions for you....🙂 Norm https://tinyurl.com/y4eerxot Saipan & Guam in the Northern Mariana Islands

  6. Hello Gabs.... It's been my ATM experience to have built a couple of GOTO Bino instruments over the past several years, both of which incorporates the use of a small Bubble Level...> https://tinyurl.com/y2mvjgca https://tinyurl.com/yxcx3vdl The Bubble Level will allow the user to "accurately" level their GOTO telescope (Equatorial or Altazimuth) during the initial setup and alignment process which will typically result in a positive increase in the scope's overall GOTO performance. The following Celestron link has some helpful tips on

  8. In the early 1950s as a kid growing up and showing interest in astronomy I recall my parents getting me a 3-inch f/11 (spherical primary mirror) Space K-Satellite for my birthday. It was a metallic green metal tube Newtonian on a three-legged metal tripod altazimuth mount. I think it was around $30 USD or slightly less. I remember the Kellner eyepiece that came with it was machined aluminum and less than .965-inches in diameter...at least it was on their 3-inch f/11 reflectors anyway. Apparently Space K made their own eyepieces. From what I remember....in the Kellner eyepiece FOV, the Moon
  9. Thanks Martin...🙂 Dentist? Yeah...sometimes when it's in the reclining mode maybe. The GOTO Bino Chair was originally an old trashed unwanted IKEA semi-reclining chair I found sitting next to a large dumpster....After that it became my ATM project...> The 10-inch f/4 Newtonian "Dob Buster" was made out of all-plywood using only a saber saw, wood glue, sand paper and redwood stain. The Dob-Buster's 10-inch f/4 Pyrex primary mirror (my 1st. mirror) I had originally hand ground, figured and polished in 1963. In 2011, nearly 50 years later...it finally found a su

  12. Thanks Carole for the kind welcome...🙂 Yeah...Saipan has some very dark skies...and is a paradise for astronomical observing. See the Sept./Oct. 2009 issue of ATT cover page with the Saipan's Palms Resort Hotel (now the Kensington Hotel) on the cover.... 14. I'm Norm.... Nice to meet you all. I enjoy Amateur Telescope/Binoscope Making (ATM/ABM) and Astronomy as a hobby. I'm basically a visual amateur astronomer and use my trusty 90mm (3.55-inch) f/7.8 Chinese Refractor I bought on the island of Saipan several years ago for observing here in the islands....
