  1. Jupiter and the shadow of Io imaged last night at 08.40 UT. Io itself is in transit but unfortunately the seeing wasn't good enough to use the barlow. This is done at prime focus with the C8 and the Altair GPcam V2 using RGB filters.
  2. Jupiter and Saturn imaged with the C8 last night using the Altair GPcam V2 and RGB filters. Both remain at a low elevation from this latitude (58 degrees north) but it's a big improvement from previous years.
  3. CaK was done with the AltairAstro 60 EDF stopped down to 40mm and the ZWO ASI120MM at 08.20 UT. The Ha is a mosaic of 7 panes done with the PST double stack amd Altair GPCam V2 at 09.30.
  4. Hi Gary, this is a stacked image. I find that with Calcium images it is better to stack fewer. So these are the best 20 out of 200 using Autostakkert. The original image , like all narrowband images, is in mono (captured by a mono cam). The colouring was done in Photoshop, as was sharpening (using wavelets in Astra image plugin but you could use Registax) and a little contrast enhancement. Brian
  5. Imaged this morning at 10.00 UT with the Altair Astro 60 EDF, Lunt CaK module B600 and ZWO ASI 120MM.
  6. This morning from a cloudy Caithness.
  7. Imaged with the Altair Astro 60 EDF, Lunt CaK B600 and ZWO ASI120MM. 09.18 UT.
  8. CaK shots of today's AR2827 and 2829. Scope was the Altair Astro 102 ED-R stopped down to 70mm. Filter was the Lunt CaK B600 and camera the ZWO ASI120MM. The stopping down really has improved the image.
  9. Thanks Carole! I have needed to find a particular workflow for the PST HA shots as all my cameras give me newton's rings (sometimes with the exception of the DMK 31 but I find the resolution is less than optimal with that cam). The rings are actually the worst on the Altair cam and yet also the easiest to remove with the Photoshop FFT plugin. In addition I need to use a flat frame to counteract the uneven illumination given by the PST. The CaK is much easier! 😆
  10. Cak done with the Altair Astro 60 EDF stopped down to 40mm and the Lunt CaK B600. DMK31 camera. Ha is a 7 pane mosaic done with the double stacked Coronada PST and Altair GPcamV2 mono. Seeing was not great, especially for the CaK.
  11. Cak taken with the Altair Astro 60 EDF and Lunt CaK B600. Ha taken with the double stacked PST. Camera was the Altair GPcamV2 mono. Sun in CaK Sun in Ha
