TerryMcK
Wow it’s May already. It doesn’t look good in this neck of the woods for the next few days. Typical UK bank holiday weather rain, cloud and a bit more rain thrown in for good measure

TerryMcK
Welcome to the UK Gabs 😄- it goes without saying that most bank holidays are punctuated with rain. Not sure why though.
AstronomyUkraine
Might be in luck tonight. The sky is clearing up, and I could be imaging around 11pm. It's Easter weekend here, and it's been hot and humid, no good for imaging, the dew point is 0.1 less than the temperature.

AstronomyUkraine
I managed 1.5 hours of SII on LBN 325 once the clouds finally decided to clear. It's forecast for a clear night tonight, so hopefully will get another 5 or 6 hours of data. There is quite a strong SII signal in this object, but OIII seems very weak, I detected nothing in 1 hour of data.

I've spent ages scratching my head, checking the camera, rebooting the PC and still couldn't figure out why the images were all white. Eventually look up and.... yes.... clouds.
DaveS
Having a go tonight as it's clear, against the MO forecast. Trying to get 4 hours Luminance on NGC 3718 to improve the rather thin data I already have. Tonight is a lot clearer than previous nights when transparency was rather poor and my data fairly rubbish. Possible clear night on Thu, but that's rather a long way away, and another possible for Saturday, but that might as well be next year for all the accuracy of the forecast. DaveS
Woke up at 1.30 with wind and lashing rain. Hurried downstairs to check the monitor, found the Cloudwatcher had done its job and shut everything down and closed the roof. Got 13 subs from the 24 scheduled.

The Flats Wizard is much faster and easier to use too.

DaveS
Well, we have a clear night tonight, and the forecasts agree that it should be clear and safe all night. Running a 4 hour pickup sequence on NGC 3718, 1 hour blue, and 3 hours luminance. Started before full astro dark, and will finish after full astro dark ends, but hopefully the first and last subs will still be OK. Think this may be the last run on this target until next year, as we're rapidly running out of full darkness, and there's no clear nights forecast for this week. Astro dark ends here round about the 15-16th May, and doesn't come back until mid July
