It's nealy June, so here's M42.

It's been cloudy for weeks so yesterday I raided what data I had from over the winter.  Turned out I had about 9 hours on M42.  So I statcked all of it.  Got to be honest I should have spent a bit longer on the processing as I can see some howlers today... but just glad I remembered how to process.

Great image!

Unfortunately from my location Orion is getting too low on horizon when it gets dark. I may need to wait winter time for imaging Orion again.

The redness and bad star control - it took me so long to bring all the subs together I just rushed processing. Last time I did I gave the red a boost in the red channel and tried it again. I might have got away with it if I hadn't decided to pop the saturarion. It was getting late so I thought just export and leave it... I need some clear skies!

EDIT: I would have gone back to fix a lot of stuff, but I made the mistake of saving a huge tif to my NAS drive and it failed to save.  I'll probs give it a from scatch process at some point.

Well, I think it's lovely!!  I've seen far far worse star control, in fact I would be pleased with that.  I don't think it's too red either.  I love bright colours.  It is what I would expect from a colour camera.  Great work.  👍👍👍
