It’s surprising what you can do with something so available as a smart phone. Now that is A very budget friendly form of AP🙂

Thank you! Is not the best planet picture of the year for sure but I am having good fun with my scope so I am quite happy. Considering was bloody windy and cold this morning i can t really complain

This is one of the very first astro images I ever took, more or less 15 years ago to the date. Taken 3/6/2006 with a Canon Rebel XT.

I would be interested in the details of the gear you used to obtain this view. I assume it was your 80mm F5 refractor, but what eyepiece and hence what magnification were you using?

Yes correct my scope is a refractor 80 mm I was using a 9.5 mm eyepiece . Honestly I don’t expect to take any picture as I was going in bed but then I said ... ok let me wait for Jupiter to rise . To my defence I left the phone holder at home so I was there with my shaking hand due to the cold! And the focus is not brilliant with the phone plus the scope itself doesn’t has a brilliant focus knob!

One's first view of Jupiter and the moons is special - I always think of Galileo giving the cardinals what-for!!!!

I agree and Galileo didn’t have a sky watcher or any Go To scope! Brilliant mind!
