Welcome Backyard Astronomy Space

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've just this minute signed up to this site and looking forward to meeting everyone. I've done hardly any astronomy despite having owned a scope for 10 years! It's sadly spent most of it's like in it's box however I've just recently reinvigorated my interest as i had some spare funds t help me set up to do astrophotography - that means i've bought a dslr and t ring 🙂

My setup currently is a Skywatcher Alt Az 127 goto, Canon 700d (stock). It's not the most professional set up but hoping its enough to get me started. I'm based in Nottingham UK and hoping to start shooting from my backyard to begin with since i can have mains power out there.

Tonight might even be my first light as the t ring and intervalometer arrived this morning and forecast looks good - so excited.

Right - i'm off to the technical sections as i already have a question about my camera settings in readiness for tonight.

Hi Damo

i just acknowledged you in another thread, but then I saw your own welcome post.

welcome aboard. I am purely observational and have only been doing it a few months. I have found the advice on this site invaluable. The members here have a wealth of knowledge and are a friendly bunch.
