TareqPhoto
Hi, I want to buy just a simple filter which is IR/UV cut filter to be used with my OSC cooled, but there are like hundred of options, can you recommend something or all of them are the same even the cheapest one? I will buy at 2" size, so i hope not go with the most expensive one for no much gain but only brand name most likely.
TerryMcK
What is your particular OSC as it might already have one built in? Anyway you can't go wrong with a Baader IR/UV cut filter.

So you chose Baader, why not Astronomik or ZWO or Optolong or something else?
TerryMcK
I choose Baader to go with my solar continuum filter as it was on offer at the same time, also from Baader. It works just as well on nighttime targets with a mono or colour cmos camera.

I can go or buy Baader not a problem, i also have filters from them, pity i didn't get that offer you did when i bought my Continuum filter, but not a big deal, it is just Baader filters aren't so so cheap, i can afford, but for just IR/UV cut filter, is it really worthy to pay that much when something cheaper can do the job as perfect? And i am talking about 2" size.
TerryMcK
I like to keep the quality of my imaging train as high as possible. If it means paying a little more then so be it. £79 for the 2" seems very reasonable to me. I have no experience of UV/IR filters in the other brands you mentioned so cannot comment on them but I do know the Baader UV/IR cut offering is a great filter. Only you know how much you want to pay.

I can pay in all cases, it is just i don't want to pay more for no much gain in quality, because i saw results of UV/IR cut from different brands and it is almost like impossible i can tell the difference, so it will be like i end up paying for a brand name rather than a quality.
