Sharpcap Pro

Recommended Posts

I have just updated my Sharpcap Pro license, and because I did it 30 days before my current license expired, I received 2 months free subscription. I can't think of a better way to spend £10 in astrophotography. It's a bargain at that price, compared to everything else associated with the hobby.

I agree, i paid the £10 for Sharpcap and i never use it - ? how mad is that, I once had a problem connecting to my polar alignment camera and Sharpcap bailed me out, so i keep Sharpcap there in case of problems.

Yes I pay £10 every year for Sharpcap and rarely use it as I am Linux based for capture. However on the odd occasion when I need the Windoze PC I tend to favour Sharpcap for capturing video (high speed solar/lunar) as it works flawlessly.

I’ve never tried the polar aligning tool nor any of the other bits that subscription unlocks but £10 is so little to pay so happy to do so.

Maybe I should look closer at the other tools it has.

I only bought it for the Polar Alignment routine. If I do any lunar work I tend to use Firecapture and AutoStakkert.

I use Sharpcap for polar alignment and nothing else. Quite happy to pay for the Pro license as I am for any other software that I use. Having been a software developer myself, I don't see why developers should be expected to give away their produce for free. I can't think of any other profession that does it.
