First light with the new scope!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, hope you're all well. Been lots going on here so apologies for being vacant. I have a new scope and I'm blogging my adventure with it, if you haven't already seen it. Head to the blog section in here and it's all there. Still got some more to add yet. Thought I'd drop a few images in here though first. I have the Altair 8" F5 newtonian and boy, it's a beast!! Sadly, atmospherics and positioning of the planets and a setting moon, didn't make for the best seeing. Saturn and Jupiter sit along the roof lines here too until the silly hours so I have only been imaging them a couple of hours on the rise. All images were taken using ROI with a x2 barlow and GPCAM2290C.

Saturn is 4298 frames, Jupiter (need to learn to work on the moons!) is 939 frames and 2x2 panel lunar mosaics. 250 frames each pane for the first photo and 125 frames per pane for the second. Hopefully more coming soon 🙂
