paulgrover68
Sky was unexpectedly clear last night. I did quick set up and managed to to get 12x 4 min subs on M8 before it dropped behind the one obstruction on my southern horizon. I gambled it would avoid it... but the gamble didn't pay off. Still data for a another session hopefully later in the week. I had to pack up around midnight due to work the next day. I did however setup my visual scope on my second mount and enjoyed some great views of Jupiter and Saturn. It was so effective that I think summer weeknights are likely to take on a much more visual approach - it's quick, easy and fun. Most importantly you can break down quickly when fatigue hits, without the pressure to gather data.
