New Star De-emphasizer Script in Pixinsight

Recommended Posts

I've just watched the video and installed the script. Interestingly it looks like Adam did it at the unstretched stage. He used Starnet to produce the starless image and initial star mask. I wasn't aware that starnet worked on unstretched images but will have to try it out.

Thanks for sharing Brian 🙂👍

That's strange Terry because I have never got Starnet to work on unstretched images. Usually goes all blocky on me.

I tried it too and Starnet doesn’t appear to work for me either on unstretched images. Adams video seems to show him running the script and his manual process on unstretched images.

He says the procedure is used early on in the process and then is shown playing around with STF moving the linked sliders around.

I might have to replay the video.

Just checked the video myself. I believe he is using stretched images, I see no green stripe in the top left corner denoting an unstretched image..

I've found out what threw me thinking he had done it on unstretched images. He hadn't - the whole process was on stretched images. But at 20:09 he moves the STF sliders. That creates the green line on the image tab. It was that I saw and prompted my initial comment 😉
