Vicki
My first DSO session since March! Oh man it felt so good!! Had some gremlins as usual on the first night out in ages. Sadly, this meant that I only managed an hour of data. I then had to wait for 4 days before I could get back out. I manged another 1 hour 40 minutes but this time using the quad band filter. The detail on a single sub with the quad is amazing! I have some spacing issues to tweak as my stars are a little elongated in the corners. Not overly worried at the moment though. The detail is phenomenal so far and I'm loving it with the starfield being as dense as it is, showing it intertwined. I can't wait to carry this project on. Hope you like it so far 🙂 20 x 180s RGB no filter 25 x 240s quad band Skywatcher 72ED, HEQ5 Pro, Altair Lightwave 0.8 reducer/flattener, Altair quad band filter, Altair 269c pro TEC - Sharpcap Altair Starwave 50mm, Altair GPCAM2290c - PHD2 Stacked in Astro Pixel Processor and processed in Photoshop
ApophisAstros
Like it , nicely framed perhaps a few less stars to emphasise the nebula more but a great job, Roger

Yeah, I'm gonna see what it looks like with the stars reduced but I must admit, I prefer seeing this for what it is, amongst all those stars. AstronomyUkraine
Forgot to ask is the light pollution good in your location, noticed you took RGB with no filter? Edited August 21, 2021 by AstronomyUkraine
Marmot
I always find it amazing looking at what you AP folk manage to image. I like the Nebula, but I also like the way that you have captured so many stars. Like grains of sand on a beach. It makes you realise just how vast space is and yet how much stuff is out there.
MarkAR
Good start Vicki, star reduction works wonders on the Veil.

Thank you. This is what I also love about this area. I'm not too fussed to reduce the stars if I'm honest because this is what it is. Some prefer more neb but I think this works just as well

Nice star colour and you kept 52 Cygni well under control in the Witches broom. 👍

A target with more Sii will be very interesting to image with the Quad band filter/OSC. I like wider fields in general, so this image of Veil complex shows all the components in context - so here's hoping this spell of good weather delivers more clear skies and you can progress this project, are you tempted to mosaic this and add a panel at the bottom of your framing to bring the Cygnus 'tail' into the image 😁 Bryan Edited August 23, 2021 by Astrobdlbug

Yes, shooting at 336mm has it's pros! I love the FOV for bigger targets. I'm not sure whether I will because that means taking my time off something else, but it's definitely food for thought!
