mightymonoped
Thought I'd have a swipe at using AstroEd's nifty little Narrowband Recombination technique using Ha and OIII channel extracts from an l-eNhance filter capture of NGC1499 the California Nebula. The proper technique can be found here https://youtu.be/3HYwJNf5M4M, this is just my ham-fisted first attempt using what I had to hand. Will definitely be exploring this one for the future though as it's such an elegant solution. In this case, I have just created a Star Layer out of an already combined version and kept it to one side while I recombined starless Ha and OIII images and processed them before remerging the Star Layer. Be gentle with me but I kind of like the colours 🙂 Tony
Sonyme
I really like this Tony. It has an ethereal feel about it which is definitely not wasted on this shot. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with using this method. Gary

Gary Thanks Gary, it's definitely got me excited to try with other targets, as it opens up a lot of new possibilities for Dual and Tri-band filters with OSCs. I also had another shot at this with more emphasis on the Blue/Green Channel. I thought it might be good to merge it in with this version, so here goes... 🙂
MarkAR
Two superb versions, first time I've seen this target done that isn't just a red splodge. My only pointer would be to ease back some on the black point, background seems quite dark and you might have lost a little of the fainter regions of nebulosity.

Will have another go and do just that! I was a little too excited with the new technique this time round. Have played a bit more with it now and will sort the levels properly. 😊👍
