P Holdsworth
Hi Everyone, just thought I'd share a couple of recent images . These are taken with a stock DSLR and processed in astro pixel processor which is new software to me. I started the hobby 12 months ago so to be honest I'm still very much in the learning stage so don't be too harsh ! . These are just screenshots to keep the file size below 500kb. Hoping to upgrade to a dedicated astro camera at some point which I understand gives you better signal and less noise. don4l
Good results - especially for a DSLR. Did you use some sort of narrowband filter?Don't rush into getting the dedicated camera. I got my first one before I understood the full implications of a smaller sensor.
Carastro
They have both come out very well, and as Don says, were you using narrowband filters, it certianly looks like it.Carole
P Holdsworth
@carastroHi Carole, thank you. Yes I used a optolong l enhance filter then used the extract Ha and O111 algorithm in astro pixel processor. It's not a proper hubble palette because there's no sulphur channel.

Thank you for the advice on the dedicated astro camera ; it's only a year since I started so yes there's no rush.
