First Try at M81

Decided to have a try at M81 -it's a work in progress as i'm still learning the ropes of Pixinsight processing.

Hi Paul, mant thanks - still just learning the ropes so trying different things out. Here's and updated version, where i've dialled back the saturation on the stars and shrank them a bit, so i think it looks a little more natural and slightly less processed on the new version.

 

Kit wise it's taken on a 10" Quattro with a QSI 683 ccd,  10x 600s each channel.

Looks really good, nice tweak on the stars. Core looks well done and the Ha looks good. 

Have a look at the Dark Lane Enhance script, might bring them up a little better.

Hi Mark, there is no Ha data, just LRGB.  Thanks for the heads up, i've  never heard of the Dark Lane Enhance script. Do you mean the Dark Structure Enhance script

Yes that's the one.

Really looks like you've picked up some Ha with the pink smudges here and there.
