Sonyme
Hi Greg, nice image. Is the small cluster-like region below Bode's Galaxy a satellite of Bode's or something in the distance?

It took a bit of researching but that little glob of stars I believe is Holmberg IX (PGC28757) or UGC 5336 and it is a satelitte galaxy of M81 much like our own large and Small Magellanic Galaxies. Here's a bit of info I found about it. ESA Science & Technology https://www.messier.seds.org/more/m081_hom9.html Wiki
Greg M
Re-processed the same data today with a bit more sleep. I thought I would do this without looking at the original version as a reference. At first I really liked it but once I compared the two versions side-by-side, this one seems a bit too blue. I do feel the dust lanes and arms in M81 are shown better in this v2.
Sonyme
Thanks for checking out Holmberg IX, very interesting. It certainly stands out more in you first image although I agree with you about the dust lanes in your second rendering.
