QHL8L selling advice

Do these cameras retain any value these days. It’s a peltier cooled APSC sensor so a step up from using a basic DSLR im thinking of selling one as I don’t use it now. But I’ve no idea what it’s worth. I’ve looked in the ABS including the archive and they seem to remain unsold. So just wondering if anyone knows why they seem to have lost popularity

A review of the forums over the last year indicate a preference towards new generation CMOS camera’s over CCD equivalents. I am not surprised at this, the new CMOS camera’s appear better suited to UK skies with much shorter frames able to compensate the limited, random availability of clear skies.

The move to CMOS has provided a lot of used CCD camera’s at much lower prices. This is a bitter pill for people who have spent a lot of money acquiring  their CCD units, some will keep theirs rather than drop the price further hence the large number unsold.

I believe the market for CCD camera’s is at an all time low and unlikely to recover, I recently exchanged most of my CCD units for CMOS and don’t look back. Yes I lost a lot of money, but anything is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay.

Thanks Martin, I appreciate the advice, I already have the ASI533MC Pro, that's why the QHY8L remains unused, I'll drop the price to make it more attractive, in the hope some DSLR user might want to try a cooled camera for a good price
