Astrobdlbug
Afternoon all, as its been so wet and horrible today - I have processed all the subs I have so far on this Orion Constellation project. The original post can be found here : I think this will be it for Orion in this year's nebula season as the weather has not been very good for imaging recently, we have a full moon next week and by time we get into March Orion for me will be behind next door's hedge and trees, so unless I go mobile and find a site to finish the upper panel, this will be it until Autumn. 5mins short of 5hrs per panel - so total 9hrs 55mins in the image Taken though my Samyang 135mm at f/2 and ASI2600MC OSC with Optolong L-Extreme filter. I have incorporated RGB data from other higher resolution images for M42 and Horsehead/Flame that I took with ASI2600MC on my AT106EDT late 2021 and early January 2022. I also had an old RGB image using the Samyang lens my ASI1600MM and Baader filters - just used that to help emphasise M78. The image posted is a 50pct reduction from original 2 Panels - stitched with AstroPixel Processor - Multi Band Blending and a central panel of about 15mins to assist with registration. Processed with APP, PI and PS. Bryan Edited February 13, 2022 by Astrobdlbug grammar and spelling :(

Galileo
I like. It's a great surprise when you zoom in and see all that detail in there So if I understand..... the main vista is done with the 135mm lens and horsey and M42 done with 106EDT? Do images of different resolutions stitch together without problems? Are PI and PS are necessary to do this? I'm guessing ICE wouldn't give a result like this.

The technique I work with is based around a program called RegiStar, I have it for quite a number of years as it was reccomended to align RGB channels to create a full RGB image, as I started astroimaging using Photoshop to process. RegiStar does one thing, it can register images of different scale ,orientations, camera and create a registered image that matches the target image perfectly. I then use layer masking, curves and colour select tools in Photoshop to blend in the HiRes with the widefield. Here's a fewof screen grabs to illustrate what RegiStar does. Now in Photoshop with registered image pasted as a layer on top of the Samyang 135mm mosaic, Monoceros this time. Align and blend with layer masks, Hope that helps, Bryan
