timastrovirus
So I would like to share my first 3 images I shot and processed returning to astroimaging in a fresh new start after a 4 year break due to both equipment failure and going thru a divorce with relocation. The first 2 testshots from the observatory, dating to August 9 and 10. NGC884-869, The Double Cluster (5 hrs 25 min in 5 min subs) and M13, Globular Cluster (3 hrs 15 min in 5 min subs), shot with the Altair Astro Hypercam 269C Pro TEC (captured with SharpCap, gain 565, offset 25, @ -10°C), calibrated with 50 flats and 48 darks, processed in PI. 8 inch Newton/MPCC mkII/8x50 QHY5 finder guider on NEQ6.The 3rd and final image, was the first real test for both the gear and location, captured almost 18.5 hours of data (on 4 seperate nights; September 19 - 23) for this image of VdB 141; The Ghost Nebula. 369x 3 min, gain 5.62, offset 25 (captured in CCDciel, due to some connection issues that started arrising in SharpCap) with the Altair Astro Hypercam 269C Pro TEC, calibrated with 50 darks, 21 flats, and 50 bias, processed in PI. 8 inch Newton/MPCC mkII/8x50 QHY5 finder guider on NEQ6.

geoflewis
They’re all lovely images. I never tire of seeing the double cluster and it’s an enduring favourite of mine to view through my 22x85 binoculars riding on a parallelogram mount. I can sit and stare at that for 30, 40 mins, or more just taking in more and more of the rich star field, as my eyes become fully dark adapted.Cheers, Geof
