Hello from California

Hi. My name is Robert and I'm a retired native son of California. I just came into possession of a Celestron Super C8+ in great condition and am looking forward to starting my astronomy journey. I've always had a interest in the stars and planets but have only used binoculars to observe in the past. The only issue I have with the scope is a damaged RA motor for the worm gears. I haven't had any luck finding a replacement part of it so far. If anyone out there has any ideas or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to being a member of this forum.

Thanks but I already tried. 37 years old and no parts. Looking for something used or that I can salvage for a damaged gear. I  don't have high hopes but will keep looking.

If the OTA's collimated and in good nick it might be worth getting a new mount.
