Popular Post Dmack1
A month almost since my last clear sky - this year is just awful. Anyway, got out last night for the second time with my new Sharpstar 61EDPHII. I'd added a bit of backspace and that was a fail - corner stars are really poor. This was about 4 hrs with the Sharpstar and the ASI2600mc I'm not overjoyed with it but it is an image. Sonyme
Do you find that when you've not been able to get out as much as you'd like it seems to take a while to familiarise yourself with your equipment and set up? Gary
Dmack1
@Sonyme I'm getting better but yes, its a complicated procedure and its easy to forget something small which can have a big impact. But I try to do things in exactly the same sequence each time and that tends to help get things right. I have also done a "trouble shooting" page for myself when I have an issue and resolve it so that if something goes wrong I can quickly remind myself what I did before. i have that in one note so i can access it from my phone or PC at the scope. Sonyme
Many thanks for the reply and great tips. I always seem to end up doing plenty of head scratching, weather permitting! My big problem is getting my head around image processing software, hence the lack of images in my file. I just couldn't bring myself to post a poor image knowing the standard many of you guys work to. I'll not give up though! Gary

On the processing, I'd urge you to take one of your best data sets, or get someone willing to share some, and make basic processing than post and ask for help. People on here are very generous with their help and no-one would think twice about someone who is looking for help to learn. Processing is, to my mind, actually more difficult than data capture and it takes time to learn. Dont be shy!
