Popular Post MartinS
Finally managed to capture some data on NGC2359 last month. While previous years were a weather washout it was great to get a couple of clear nights enabling me to capture this interesting low elevation object. Taken with the TS130/QHY268M rig using Antlia 3nm Ha and Oiii filters, this is a HOO combination of 21x 5min Ha, Oiii frames. While I hope to capture more data next year and reprocess, I suspect the image quality will always suffer due to U.K. seeing at such a low altitude. At least the first one is in the bag.
paul
A fine image despite the challenges the UK weather gives us. Its a deep image, I like the extended dust/nebulosity.

Carastro
A really nice result of a difficult target. As Steve says I think you need a long focal length to see this visually. Carole
MartinS
Thank you Paul, Steve, Terry and Carole for your very kind words. I have been trying to image this DSO since 2018 but the weather has frequently transpired to block me. Being at such a low altitude, you have to wait for the right weather and seeing. I was lucky this year and am grateful for reasonable skies. May I wish you all every success with your own ambitions. kind regards, Martin
