Popular Post Dmack1
With astrodark quickly dissapearing, I decided to try to grab some more data on my M51 from last year. Various things went against me so this ended up as only another 2 hours to add to the 2.5 from last year. But last year was the LX200 at 1200mm FL with the 700D and this was the LX200 at 1960mm FL (my 0.85 reducer ) and the 2600mc so I was hopeing for some better resolution from this new data. So I combined both sets for colour then used the new data as a luminance layer to pick out the detail. So its a pseudo LRGB from DSLR/OSC. C&C welcome. This is last years from only the DSLR for comparison Edited May 1, 2022 by Dmack1
paul
A nice atmospheric result and shows the worth of keeping data and building on it. Depending on how good your guiding/seeing is you may find staying with 1200fl is the best option even with the smaller 2600MC pixels🤔

The problem there is that to get the 1200 FL I need to use the Meade 0.63 reducer which is worse than useless, with dreadful coma from half way out. With my SW 0.85 reducer the coma is pretty much eliminated.
Sonyme
Absolutely stunning. I haven't posted for a while as I've been up to my eyeballs with work and home renovations but I had to make comment about your super image. Gary
