Aurorawatcher
Hello from Alaska. I get to see lots of Aurora Borealis during the dark days here. Well sometimes as clouds fill the skies most nights. As a friend of mine says “ Clouds are what astronomers view the most”. I just recently brought a Williams Optics Zenithstar61 to use as both a visual telescope and for some astrophotography. I also have a Sky Adventurer star tracker. I also have a scotch mount. I look forward to the forum.
geoflewis
Hello and welome @Aurorawatcher, it would be great to have your real name too, if you don't mind sharing that. I would love to see some aurora images on here, heading to the artic circle to see the aurora live is on my bucket list. My wife and I were considering a cruise to northern Norway for that this coming year, but then along came CV19, so that's not going to happen anytime soon....I also purchased a Star Adventure earlier this year, but not used it much. I bought it to get some images of Comet Neowise, but it should prove to be a great travel rig in future.Regards, Geof

Aurorawatcher
@geoflewismy name is John. I didn’t get to see the comet. Only problem living here is there is no Summer night sky. And I miss that the most.
geoflewis
@Aurorawatcher Yes John, some you win, some you lose. A pity about not seeing the comet, I would have thought it was bright enough as I could see it pretty clearly in our twilight at 52N, but then I guess most of Alaska is between 60N to 70N....Geof
