Blue tits

Hi all, we've finally had blue tits use our beaten up nest box after many years ... Sadly the fence it's attached to was damaged in the wind recently 🥺 

I had to make the decision to leave it while the birds were building the nest or move it somewhere safer.

Thankfully they just looked where it was ... Looked very puzzled, looked around and saw it, then carried on as though nothing had happened.

Well done Gaz that's lovely.

It's been a great spring for bird watching, probably because I've got more time to do it!

Got gold finches and long tail tits nesting nearby.

Nice pictures Gaz, great that the birds settled in their new location. We are fortunate to have a wide variety of birds in our garden, probably due to the number and variety of bird feeders scattered around the premises.  My wife has more feeders than I have telescopes but I am happy with the attangemet.

I should add that I am a long way from the birds using a 300mm lens and not disturbing them.

It hadn't long left the nest ... Probably not sure what was going on 😀
