Popular Post Dmack1
This of course is M16. more commonly known as the Eagle Nebula but I prefer the less common name of The Star Queen. Largely because I see the queen (particularly in the orientation below) more easily than the eagle. We are out of astrodark for several weeks but the L-enhance is coping pretty well I think. This is much shorter integration than I would like (clouds adding to the short night). It is only 2 hours (40 x 180s) but hopefully I'll be able to drip feed some more integration into it. ASI 2600mc, L-enhance, processed as HOO. C&C appreciated.

Carole Hi Carole, yes the new pier really make the difference as I can be out and imaging in literally 5 minutes. So I can take advantage of those short periods when conditions are right. Previously I'd not have bothered lugging all the gear out and starting from scratch on the off-chance I may get a couple of hours. Just was not worth the excertion! len2376
Stunning image for such a short integration. Low on the horizon too from where I am.

Thanks Len, Yes the ASI2600mc is just an amazing camera. And when combined with the new Noisexterminator in Pixinsight I'm finding that such short integrations are coming out better than expected. But I look forward to the darker nights again when I can get more time on target. It is very low for me too (53N) and really I think its about as low as I could go. Which is a pity because I'd love to try the helix nebula and some others. Edited June 9, 2022 by Dmack1
Sterrenland
Having tried the Eagle a couple of nights ago I can appreciate now it's not an easy target from where we are. It was pretty low for me too. I only managed an hour in less than perfect conditions. Your image shows much greater detail and depth.
