Eastern Veil Nebula NGC6992...

Recommended Posts

I always feel it's a shame not to get out under the stars when it's clear...despite a bright moon hanging about, so managed 3 hours on the Eastern Veil Nebula last night. Despite it being full moon, our lunar friend stayed very low in the south, so it could have been worse I suppose.

This is my first processing of the data...so it's not perfect, but I'm pleased to have got this considering the time of year and the lightness of the sky. The L-Enhance filter really helps to get something when the conditions aren't perfect.

Planned on doing the same target myself, but high clouds put me off.

Had a go at Witch’s Broom last under similar conditions but without the high cloud. Fingers crossed 😊

Thanks...yes, I had high cloud the night before which was annoying. The night I imaged this turned out to be quite decent considering the time of year and the moon, etc. Hope your Witch's Broom came out ok?
