Dmack1
This is another attempt to process L-enhance data as HOO. I'm not sure this one really benefits from this type of process but would appreciate C&C and suggestions. The data for this is not that great - a warm evening in early august, a DSLR on my longest ever exposure of 300s set to ISO 1600. So its as noisy as anything.I know! not the smartest of choices for any of it.Also attached is my original processing of this for comparison.Full res images here https://astrob.in/1skggy/0/ and here https://astrob.in/d95mby/0/thanks for any helpDavid
MarkAR
I think both have come out rather well. I like the blue in the nebulosity of the first but the strong blue of the stars detract a little overall. The second is much better entirely, looks a lot smoother and better balanced. Yes I think you are right that the second (which was my earlier version) is better on this one..I'M finding that this method does make backgrounds noisier so this one with its inherent noise was probably not a good subject. Carastro
I like both of them, but prefer the blue one, I like colour.Carole
DavM
I like the one on the right.Sorry I can't offer many suggestions, I use Astro Pixel Processor and split the channels that way and then play with the sliders. That seems to give a similar result which I then finish off in Photoshop!Dave
