Popular Post Carastro
Been having a bit of a break from imaging, what with the heatwave and also because I had pretty much run out of targets I could do from Home at Bortle 8. So have been on the look out for ideas as I didn't want to repeat previously imaged targets unless I could do them better and only a dark site would have done that. Suddenly I found a couple of images I could do using my largest telescope which is an ED120. Taken from Bortle 8 SE London over 3 nights - probably needs more data but 3 nights in a row until 3.30 am "did me in" but nice to be back in the saddle again and looking forward to Kelling Heath next month, if any-one else is going to be there I am on Pitch T311. GazAstro
Nice Carole, just goes to show what you can achieve with plenty of integration and narrowband of course.

Wow, Carole, you went a long way here 5670 light years away to track down a new target - what a little stunner. I like the surrounding dust/gas clouds, and dark nebula this is a lovely capture and colours, you must have squeezed that 1 hr of Oiii until it had no more to give. What I particularly like is that you didn't just put the nebula in centre of the frame, you framed it so that the image captures the dark nebula filiments that surround the bright nebula - smart framing and research Bryan

Carastro
I have done a revision of the processing of this image that I am much happier with. Carole
P Holdsworth
I really like the revision Carole ! There appears to be much more surrounding dust in this one. For me I prefer the revision 👍 Paul
