Pixinsight Benchmark

Recommended Posts

The PC I uae to process my astro images, recently died on me. If was around 7 years old, so it wasn't really suited for Pixinsight anyway. That gave me the chance to build something more suitable for processing. I wasn't going for a top of the range PC, like a Threadripper CPU, or a high end GPU which is not needed anyway in Pixinsight.

Here are the basic components I used for the build.

Intel i7 12th Gen CPU.

Asus Prime Z690 motherboard.

Asus GeForce RTX 3070 GPU.

64 GB of Kingston Fury Beast Ram.

A couple of 1Gb NVMe M.2 SSD drives.

After assembling this PC I was interested in the Pixinsight benchmark, as I know my previous build was a pathetic 7000+. I was pretty happy when the score came back at 25255 for the CPU and an overall score of 21477. The full details are in the benchmark results.
