TerryMcK
In the early hours of 1st September I'm out imaging. Good luck to everybody playing in September.
TerryMcK
Taking a few flats before I forget. I also have refreshed my darks. However I noticed when I had a look at the FITS header on the darks was they started out at -20C and ended up at +8C after 30 frames were tajen... not good. Then I realised I had put the scope cover on and it started to heat up due to no fresh air under the cover despite the cooler being on. So I whipped the cover off let it cool down again (the camera was warm to the touch) and it got back down to -20C. I started again and got a set of darks that were all at the correct temperature. Moral of the story - make sure you let good ventilation into the cooled camera.
TerryMcK
Taking an opportunity for the next few hours to capture some Ha on a target. Rain tomorrow so you've got to take it when you can in the UK.
TerryMcK
Now the moon is diminishing again I am shooting some widefield S2 on the same target as Saturday night. The waning moon is up but a bit yellowish. I had the binoculars out earlier showing Jupiter and Saturn to my wife. Saw 3 moons around Jupiter and could make out Saturn's rings as best as can be done with 80x20s. The Dob is upstairs and would take too long to cool down once I had carried it down and collimated it. So the big binocs are the next best thing.

TerryMcK
It’s been clear two nights on a run in these here parts. Unfortunately no play for me due to theatrical commitments. I notice both Mars and Jupiter are fine looking tonight naked eye.
TerryMcK
I'm out on two targets. Jellyfish rises here around 0030 BST but lifts above a neighbours house around 0100 so shooting some HA with the Redcat
AstronomyUkraine
Was hoping to give my new rig an airing tonight, but of course the weather gods decided otherwise. I have been out of action for 6 months, so another day or 2 won't hurt.
