Iris Nebula (W.I.P.)

Recommended Posts

While I was waiting for the moon to set on Wednesday night so I could concentrate on my main objective (M33), I grabbed some test subs on the Iris Nebula. In far from ideal conditions in the 75% moon I was pleasantly surprised to find I had captured some dark stuff.

This is 90' of data in 5' subs and a very rough process in SIRIL. It is very noisy because of the moon and LP from Much Wenlock so doesn't bare any close scrutiny.

This is now definitely my next target for a project over several imaging sessions, this time from a proper dark sky (Bortle 3) and moon free, very excited!
