P Holdsworth
Hi all, here is my attempt at the pelican nebula. It's just 2.5 hours of data so just processed this one as regular RGB. It's captured with a stock DSLR and a L enhance filter but managed to get a reasonable amount of nebulosity considering the small amount of data. There's more noise than I would like because it's a DSLR but hoping to upgrade at some point to a cooled camera. I quite like the target and its fairly bright which helps with lack of camera sensitivity so may re visit this one again.Regards Paul
GazAstro
Really nice ... For me , it looks more like a pelican when rotated 90° clockwise ?
Dmack1
Thats a nice image. yes, The DSLR's can be a pain when its any way warm outside. I had the same problem with this same target last month. But I'd say you've overcome it pretty well.
don4l
That's a cracking result for an unmodded DSLR. I've heard that different DSLRs cut off the IR at different points. I'd guess that your camera is more sensitive than most DSLRs.
MarkAR
Very nice, not easy controlling noise on a DSLR.

P Holdsworth
@dmack1Thank you. yes you're right it does reasonably well at picking up nebulosity but trying to control noise with it is a real challenge
P Holdsworth
@markarThanks Mark.....yeah I'm hoping a cooled camera in the future will help with processing.
