Dmack1
I was promised a clear sky all night on Tuesday but it ended up as little over 2 hours. I had planned at least six hours on the Lion nebula but got 2. I was not going to bother processing it as it was forecast good for tonight and I thought I'd get some more time on it. But that has now changed with no clear sky in sight for at least a week so I decided to process it and see what I got. So this is just over 2 hours with the Sharpstar 61EDPHII, the ASI2600mc, the L-enhance filter under a 98% moon so my expectations were not particularly high All in all I'm reasonably happy with it, considering the short integration and essentially full moon. The detail in the centre of the 2 masses is not great but at 2 hours and 275mm FL I can live with it until I get more data. I'm not sure if the dark blue in the outer areas is moonglow leaking through the filter or if its real, but since there are background areas without any blue, and real red/ Ha background areas, I'm going to take it as real oiii. C&C welcome as always. Thanks for looking.
Sonyme
Considering the difficulties you experienced I think your image is good. I also think you are right about the oiii, looking at the shape of the blueish areas around the nebula it's unlikely to have been caused by your filter. P Holdsworth
Despite the short integration it's already looking a very nice image David 👍
