Popular Post Astrobdlbug
All, rubbish weather apart from the few days over the full moon - so 3nm Ha was fully utilised. Having said that, this target was really a bit close to the moon and I had to delete a lot of subs as I didnt move the dome often enough to shade the telescope objective from direct moonlight and it washed out a lot of subs - I fell asleep as it was about 2am. I set up a mosaic in ASIAir with about 20% overlap plus I also had a more central panel I captured back in mid-November. Integrated the 3 panels in APP and then used APP to stitch the three panels into this image. Anyway here is 15hrs of HA (3nm) - Cone/Christmas tree/fox fur in a wider field starless and stars Bryan Edited December 13, 2022 by Astrobdlbug
mightymonoped
Wow! 👏 That's gorgeous detail. Decent integration time certainly makes for a beautifully clean image. I'm a big fan of APP's mosaic capabilities. It's not the easiest tool to use and it has it's ideosycrasies but it's an incredibly capable piece of software I think. Might be some time until I’ve got all the data for Sii and Oiii and create a colour image - I think it might be into new year Bryan
MartinS
Conditions aside, that is nice looking data, was it taken with your 90mm?

Martin - yes using Stellamira 90mm triplet with the matching 0.8X FF/FR. I’ve now got a fair amount of Oiii and Sii, so hopefully get some time to process this week before the family invade for Christmas.
