Jellyfish Nebula...with thanks to the mightymonoped!

Recommended Posts

I'm blaming Tony/ @mightymonoped for this one!

I was so impressed with his version of the Jellyfish Nebula that I had to have a go myself. For whatever reason I hadn't imaged this one before.

I still think his image is amazing and prefer it to mine. I seemed to struggle a bit with the processing. Anyway, it is what it is. About 3 hours of data. I'll probably have another go at processing it.

Great job. As already mentioned, the OIII shell is showing up nicely.

Only critique I would have is there seems to be sort of like a reverse vignette on the image. It seems darker in the center of the frame with a lighter edge vignette. Also, down the very left edge there seems to be a red tint to it. Maybe improper calibration frames or probably easily fixed in the early processing stage with DBE.

I did struggle with the DBE it must be said. I'm planning on having another go at processing this one!
