AstronomyUkraine
IC 1805. The Heart Nebula, with data collected over the past week. It is a straight up SHO mix, and I'm fairly pleased with the result. Will probably try a few more SHO variations, to see if I can improve the image.Integration time, just over 24 hours. Processed in Pixinsight, with a final tweak in Photoshop.

AstronomyUkraine
@GazAstro Sometimes I don't know when to stop, but I would sooner have too many frames than not enough.
AstronomyUkraine
@paulgrover68 Thanks Paul. I'm pleased with the detail. Even though it was taken with an 80mm ED, Melotte 15 turned out quite sharp.
don4l
Quality image. The long exposure really shows through.
AstronomyUkraine
@MarkAR Thanks. I sometimes go overboard with the saturation. I like strong colours, but held back a bit on this one.
AstronomyUkraine
@don4l I'm all for taking plenty of frames, especially with the OIII and SII filters. I only had 6 hours of OIII in this image, would have liked another 4 hours, but clouds come in. Maybe I will add to it if I get another clear night. ? P Holdsworth
For me the colours are just right.......stunning image
AstronomyUkraine
Thanks. You are right about the colours. I tried a few different permutations, and none came out as good as this one. Funny thing is, the first version always seems to be the best when I process an image.

AstronomyUkraine
Posted by: @Gina Very nice indeed an one of my favourite nebulaeThanks Gina. It's one of mine too, and is a perfect fit for my ED80 with a 0.85 reducer. No cropping needed, except for stacking artifacts.
