Popular Post Carastro
Not done any imaging for a while (except the comet last week), basically because I have virtually run out of targets I can do from home (Bortle 8 ) this means I am down to the lesser done targets which are often quite faint, as is this one. I spent two nights on it (the second using my dual rig) a total of 12 1/2 hours and it could still do with more data, but this is what I have so far. Not sure I want to spend any more time on it. Atik460EX & ED80 + Atik460EX and ED72 (dual rig) Ha 51 x 600 (8 1.2 hours) Oiii 24 x 300 binned (2 hours) Sii 24 x 300 binned (2 hours) Total imaging time 12 1/2 hours Edited February 17 by Carastro 13
Sonyme
Love the colours Carole. I haven't seen this target before, where in the sky is it? Considering the high Bortle number, what kind of pollution filters do you use? Gary
Graeme
Nice one Carole. I tried that target once but my colour camera didn't come close to what you have there. Is it just me that sees the face of a dragon or a baby tiger?
Astrobdlbug
Fascinating object Carole, again you’ve gone out into the depths of Perseus to catch this one. Just read it’s 10,700 light years away…..The colour palette is really good - sort of like a bicolour HOO, but obviously has more depth with the Sii content. It is in Perseus or thereabouts. Carole

TerryMcK
Now you mention it I see the sleeping dog too. Maybe a Boxer dog. A great image you have captured there Carol.
MartinS
You have created a lovely image Carole and great dedication in capturing that much data. I have tried this target but as of yet do not have enough data to do it justice.
RaDec
Excellent image Carole. The colour balance and fine detail is quite amazing, well done. Incidentally, I think I remember you from many years ago on the UKAI forum. I even think I sent you a homemade polar illuminator when you were first starting out?? Or am I wrong? Carastro
Yes I remember that, it was a long time ago and I don't have that mount any more, and in fact have Polemaster which is a godsend. A lot of imaging time has passed since then eh? Carole
RaDec
My word it has Carole - I took a break for a few years, then went purely visual and got bored! Once imaging the faint stuff gets under your skin...... Polemaster is indeed a godsend without an obsey (which I still am!)
