Problem with Nikon D5300

infernodim

Recommended Posts

Greeting fellow astrophotographers.

I have bought a Nikon D5300 with a kit lens (AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II) and a SW star adventurer.

I can easily get 2min subs but since I live under B9 skies my subs are 30-40sec max.

Let's get to the point cause I am driving crazy.... I havent been able to get a single good final image

I always shoot lights, flats(white tshirt method and full brightness tablet), darks, bias or dark flats

Below you will see what I mean

Has anyone any previous experience with this type of lens and camera?

any suggestions of what might causing this? I am using a lens hood and I have the eyepiece always covered

thank you a lot in advance!

Hello and welcome to the forum. I’m not familiar with the camera nor lens but maybe somebody on here has experience with the combo.
