Popular Post paulgrover68
I had one of those nights where there was a break in the clouds. It lasted around 3 hours, so I decided to revisit NGC1499. This was the first image I shot on my refractor and stretched stars. I've eliminated them now (more or less!) so could go a little closer to the edge. Last light session really illustrated how small refractor is great tool when you need to setup quickly - My rigs not exactly grab and go, but I think I have setup time down to around 5 mins. I need to get some shorter cables to leave them in place rather than pluging everything in every time.

paulgrover68
Thank you - it was shot on the ZWO ASI294MC-pro. 240 seconds x 30 at unity gain with the L-eNhance filter. Although it was cold and I had to keep an eye on the clouds I really enjoyed last nights imaging.
AstronomyUkraine
Looking good for only 3 hours of data. I wouldn't mind getting an hours worth of data, not even seen a star for two weeks.
paulgrover68
@AstronomyUkraine It's been like that here. It's been clear in the mornings, but over the day the clouds arrive and it starts raining. Thursday was supposed to overcast, but when the clear window opened I jumped on it. I could just do with a night where is stays clear from sunset to midnight so I can kickstart some winter projects.

Dmack1
Thats nicely done. Good texture in the clouds. I'm with you on the weather. Three weeks here without a star. Maybe 3 hours promised tonight but I'm not sure ill bother. With the DSLR 3 hours is hardly enough to be worthwhile.

paulgrover68
@PaulB I absolutely love the L-enHance. It really has some black magic built into it. I actually still can't quite believe the images I have been getting since I started using it.
