Popular Post Alex
Thanks to help from AstronomyUkraine with PixInsight I have had a go at processing my most recent target, the Rosette Nebula.I would like to get some more Ha data to pull out more of the faint nebulosity but for now its done.

Astrobdlbug
I really like this image of the rosette nebula for several reasons, the colour palette is 'Hubble-ish' but a lot more subtle than some of the lets say 'vibrant' interpretations, I think that the browns/golds and the transitions from outer nebula toward the center give a depth that is not always seen in rosette images and the central area in pale blue/cyan is inspired. I also like that you have not over darkened the 'boks' so they dont overpower the image and finally the stars are amazing, especially the center cluster that I have always 'blown out' in my processing in broadband RGB rather than narrowband. If I can get close to creating an image like this of the rosette when I get around to putting my 'scope on the mount rather than my samyang and drag myself away from widefield - well I would be extremely proud of such an image.Really excellent imageBryan

Stub Mandrel
Very nice, I like the unusually broad framing.
Wyvern
Oh yes! that's cracking! I call this particular nebula the "behind the top of the trees nebula" but eventually I will get data for it. 30 mins/night at a time

MartinS
Cracking image, I particularly like the softer tone of the colours which drew my eye to the centre and through. May I enquire what application you used to create the boarder and text.
Alex
@MartinS Thanks :-) The borders and text are all added in Photoshop. I just increase the canvas size, fill it with black, add a light border around the image then add the text

P Holdsworth
Beautiful image. I personally think the colour palette and more subtle tones is the best I've seen of the Rosette nebula. You've certainly nailed the processing on this one.
