KevS
Down loaded the above app onto the phone last night, sort of a poor mans SQM meter. It was my intention to use the app this evening and provide a measured review; but unfortunately it has clouded out. I believe it is some sort of research project for the Federal Ministry for Research and Education (Germany). But nevertheless may provide a local indication of light pollution.Kev
geoflewis
Hi Kev,It’s a pretty good app. I’ve used it a few times over the past 6+ years to assess what magnitude my eyesight can actually reach under different observing conditions, but you do need to be able to see some stars (?) and more to the point be dark adapted. Also best to run several phases to get the best results. I’ll be interested to see your review.Cheers, Geof
