TerryMcK
https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap201228.htmlIt may be just me but this picture has lots of red halos around the stars. I'm surprised it got an APOD as it is easy to correct. Maybe it is the AP's trademark!
TerryMcK
The submission standards must be slipping at APOD as I've found another one a few days earlier with blue halos!https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap201226.htmlI'm probably becoming over picky. The stars look blown to me, and the nebula has a plastic look to it. Probably too much noise reduction. Still a good image though, and one I would be proud to have taken. Stub Mandrel
I'm not a regular visitor to APOD, but I noticed those haloes too.
Jkulin
Hmm, seen loads better than them, maybe they are trying to give everyone a chance?
GazAstro
I find it strange that they don't publicise capture details ?
Jkulin
Yep Gary, if people don't publish capture details then I move on and with Astrobin if the images are taken with someone else data or they have paid to download the data or even used professional data then I don't give them a second glance.
