M81

I've done some crazy things in my life, but last night was one of the craziests. I needed set up the focuser on my new scope, get the step size etc, and last night was clear most of the night. The main problem I had, it was -20 outside, but once I was polar aligned, everything else was done from in the house.

The temperature was a bit too much for the mount though, the grease in it is rated for -30, but it seemed overrated, the mount went very stiff, the grease must have solidified in it. The cables also went quite rigid too.

I did get my focuser sorted out, and a few hours of Lum on M81, but in future I will wait until the temperature is a lot higher before venturing out again. The ironic part is, I won't be using the images I had taken, I will be getting my flattener delivered tomorrow, tonight was just a test run.
