Popular Post peter shah
I've really taken a shine to these new Cmos sensors....they are just amazing what you can do with such short integration times. Although Simeis 147 was 22hrs total in RGB Ha and O3, Imaged with an FSQ106 at F3.6 and an ASI 6200MMBarnard's 7 is a very different story...The original data set was 8hrs but after the lens dewing up on most of them I ended up using 20 out of 96. A grand total of 1hr and 40mins, 20x 300s subs....I wasn't going to bother with processing it until I grabbed some more... Glad I did...I'm so surprised what I was able to pull out of it.. Imaged with a Sigma 105 F1.4 and an ASI 2600MC one shot colour. I've have now sorted the Dew problem!I should add I imaged these remotely from Spain..Thanks for lookingPeter Shah

Dmack1
Those are fantastic. The Barnard's & is amazing for under 2 hours integration.

DaveS
Couple of cracking images there Peter. Simeis 147 is looking stunning.I have a QHY 268Mon order, getting impatient!
peter shah
@DaveS Thank you........ I bet you are Dave...The Covid situation is effecting everything....It must be a nightmare for the retailers
DaveS
Last time I was in contact with Rupert he said deliveries were all over the place. He also said he was moving away from mono to OSC and 35 mm format cameras. He has some nice QHY models on his site.
peter shah
@DaveS Personally as much as I love OSC there are limitations with them....It would be a mistake to move away from mono. For example I did several hours on S147 with the OSC and got virtually nothing.....Interesting topic in it self
DaveS
I've been contemplating getting the 268C for my little 80mm f/4.4, mainly to save on filter costs, but that will be for later.
GazAstro
Very nice ! When you say images remotely ... Is that your equipment that's remote or a rental jobby ?
peter shah
@GazAstro Thank you Garry.... I've set, maintain and control all the systems out in Spain for a rental site ....Its no big secret who but I wasn't sure if I'm allowed to mention them on the forum.... but equally not fair to let people assume they were taken in the UK
peter shah
@DaveS I've not had much experience with QHY. I do know that its not just about the sensor when buying a camera... What I am certain of is the latest Gen Cmos cameras are amazing....but storage and processing power needed could become an issue very fast. That's cool then ?Otherwise I treat remote imaging as cheating ?
peter shah
@GazAstro John Kulin still calls me a cheat and tells me they are pretend scopes regardless ? ......In all honestly Its been a huge graft to get them all set up and running reliably..... Its nice to be able to use them to get targets I want to do....makes it all worth it.
