paul
Hi,I never needed to worry too much about this with my HEQ5 but now the CEM70 can't go too far across the meridian before it stalls. Has anyone had success configuring an Ioptron mount to flip and work with APT on an imaging session? Cheers,Paul
Astroarg
I've done a CEM25P with NINA.. think it may be similar... you have to either have your mount do it, or NINA (in your case APT) I used this as a reference - might be helpful Cem120 + Nina – Meridian Flip Settings | Astronomically Speaking

With so few good nights of weather I want to get it right first time if possible ?
Astroarg
To be honest I've given up with everything else that's "ideally" needed after the flip. So I try and time my objects to avoid a flip! One day, when I'm pier'ed or shed'ed I'll give it another go!!!
Jkulin
I use SGP with either my 120EC or 40EC and it works perfectly. You need to make sure that the sequence software flips far enough in front but not to early and then set up commander to be about 10 minutes after than, doing it that ways Commander will look and see ah, no need to do that and it just works.
paul
@astroargI'm the same at the moment. Now that I am settling in to the gear and the obs tent keeps working I want to push the sessions as long as possible in a night. You just never know when the next clear sky will be. paul
@Jkulin APT has something similar combined with plate solving (which I am enjoying after years of squinting through finders) - I need to take the plunge and give it a go. And best suited for my refractor as my newt's spikes are unlikely to align.
