Astrobdlbug
I had to look up what a L500 mount is to carry a 17" reflector and image to this standard unguided ..seriously unguided!!...its a monster mount and so is the 'scope.absolutely hats off Peter - the detail in this is awesome -when I imaged M81 last year myself the Ha jets indicated some details - but your image takes detail to another level,Bryan

The L500 is just incredible it slews at 20 degrees a sec in slow mode (60 max). In its equatorial position its looks like its going to fall over. The whole thing weighs nearly 200KG. There are no gears in the mount no PE but at 3meters focal length I was sceptical whether it needed to be guided. It was actually easier to get running unguided than the 10microns did....the software has been written so well and is very easy to run.
