NGC 5906 The Splinter Galaxy

Recommended Posts

Another distant galaxy, and from my friend that is wikipedia - between 45-61 Million Light  Years distant - thats just amazing. Galaxy Season always has some really interesting images - this is one of them right at the start of this year's crop and I absolutely applaud the use of your ED80 as I am a sucker for wide fields and yes I agree the blue stars really do add to the image and its visual appeal.

Imaging galaxies with a refractor really kind of says to me that I should be getting my refractor back onto the mount and putting the reasonably small pixels of the ASI1600 onto some galaxies -

Thanks Bryan. The ED80 has gone into storage, I have a new toy to play with, an Esprit 120. Should give my galaxy images a lot more detail.
