Popular Post Dmack1
I continue to be plagued by poor skies so am struggling to give the new ASI2600 a decent try out. But Sunday gave me a few hours so I thought I'd try the Rosette. So this is 67 X 180s (3.25 hrs) with the Skywatcher 80 ED, NEQ6, ASI2600mc, L-eNhance. Moon was 97% and about 90 degrees away so could have been worse. There is a bit of coma out at the corners which I think is backspacing so I have added a 0.5mm spacer into the train which hope will make the difference. Stacked in APP, mostly processed in PI with finishing touches in PS C&C very welcome and appreciated. Thanks Mark, as to more data - chance would be a very fine thing! Honestly I think it will be next year now as the Rosette is getting quite low for me. Stub Mandrel
That's great data. I found the L-enhance tends to make a strong Oii signal look a bit grey/magenta. This leaves the images dominated by Ha which doesn't make the most of having a multi-band filter. Repeated use of selective colour (on the magenta channel mostly, but a tweak on the neutral channel as well) can shift it towards blue. I had a quick play with a low-res screen grab, hope you don't mind. I also used gradient exterminator to remove a slight gradient and correct a slight blue cast this gave the background. The result inspires me to go back to some of my own images:
Dmack1
Thanks for doing that @Stub MandrelNeil andI don't mind a bit. I had tried some selective colour tweaks on a layer masked for only the centre areas using. I may go back and have another go because I do li,e howyour color emphasises the different regions. The thing about selective colour is it (usually) works well without masking. four or five layers is not unusual, don't try and do it all in one go. 👍
